Alongside exciting features like online co-op, the Vampire Survivors 2025 roadmap reveals that Poncle will release even more free content updates, which hopefully means additional Vampire Survivors achievements are on the way. It sounds like we could have yet more reasons to return to one of the best Game Pass games in 2025.

Vampire Survivors 2025 roadmap offers a glimpse into the future

  • Cross-saving arrives with the next update, patch 1.13
  • Poncle is focusing on releasing more free updates throughout the year
  • The team hopes to add Online co-op later this year

As revealed in the latest blog post from Poncle, there should be plenty to look forward to in Vampire Survivors this year. Cross-saving is expected to roll out shortly with patch 1.13, while the long-awaited online co-op feature will hopefully arrive later in the year. As for playable content, the team plans to release more free standard updates, each with a little more content than we’ve seen before, and has multiple other projects in the works, including a movie.

Poncle says, “In 2025 we’re focusing on free standard updates, that will be a bit chunkier than usual,” as it takes a little longer to roll out updates across the many devices Vampire Survivors is now on. The team says we can expect to see new content for the “three different update cycles:” Stage Recycling, Pickups, and Darkanas.

The Stage Recycling cycle started out with Poncle reusing the graphics from existing stages to create new content quickly, but says it “didn’t feel right to just re-use the exact same graphics again and again,” as it was cheap. Instead, the team will now make stages that have vague references to Vampire Survivor’s five original stages, which can be unlocked by playing the referenced stage in its Inverse mode.

As for the Pickup cycle, this references the special stages inspired by the game’s various pickups, like Bat Country and Space 54. While we’re yet to learn which pickups could be the next items to get stages, Poncle says the next patch “will be an accurate representation of how the average Tuesday feels at Poncle.” As for the final cycle, there are 17 more Darkanas on the way, so we can expect to see some new ones added this year.

If you were a fan of the Ode to Castlevania expansion, it sadly sounds like we won’t be getting any more licensed expansions like that again. “If you have played it enough, then you probably know is a tiny bit bigger than all other ones, and that is a tiny bit difficult to produce that much content again, for the same or lower price, and in a reasonable amount of time,” Poncle says. The team says we could still see at least one original expansion for the chaotic rogue-like, though.

Outside of the game, the team says it has multiple Vampire Survivors experiments in the world, which will see the franchise team up with other indie devs for Vampire Survivors-adjacent “things.” Six are on the cards right now: “Two have been greenlit, two have been replaced, and two are still ongoing.” Poncle also confirms that it’s still working on the live-action Vampire Survivros movie with Story Kitchen, and plans to “reveal a few other cross-media things” this year too.

As one of the best indie games on Xbox, we’re happy to take any opportunity to return to the game, so this is great news. How about you? are you looking forward to more Vampire Survivors fun in 2025? Drop a comment below and let us know!
