Xbox Game Pass is expected to add six new titles for its subscribers in April. While a few games have been officially confirmed to arrive on Xbox Game Pass as day-one releases, other titles are rumoured to be added for subscribers as well. This follows a busy period for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, with multiple day-one games released at the end of January 2025 and the addition of the first-party Xbox game Avowed in February 2025. The confirmed titles include South of Midnight and Clair Obscur: Expedition 3.
Apart from this, Xbox has also listed games like Commandos: Origins to its “coming soon” list but has not officially confirmed the dates of when these games arrive for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
According to a report by PureXbox, South of Midnight debuts on April 8, Commandos: Origins and Descenders Next are scheduled for an April 9 release, Blue Prince on April 10, Tempopo on April 17, while Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is expected to be added on April 24.
Games coming to Xbox Game Pass in April 2025
Among the games confirmed to arrive for Xbox Game Pass subscribers in April 2025, South of Midnight is an action-adventure game which is inspired by southern folklore and developed by Compulsion Games. This game features an art style that mimics stop-motion animation.
Meanwhile, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has also attracted attention based on its trailers. This turn-based RPG with real-time elements where players can lead a team to defeat the Paintress, preventing her from painting death, all while exploring a world inspired by Belle Époque France and battling unique foes.
Blue Prince is a first-person puzzle game that has been identified by former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida as a potential Game of the Year contender. Commandos: Origins allows players to shape history in a World War II real-time tactics experience, while Descenders Next challenges players with extreme sports on snowy mountains and winding tracks. Mt. Holly offers a strategy puzzle adventure through ever-changing corridors. Lastly, Tempopo combines puzzles with a musical quest to rescue vibrant, melodic flowers.
