The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day MayhemThe Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem is mostly a collection of mini-games, joined together by an another party game, trying to find Dr. Seuss’ friendlyish feline.

Whoever finds the Cat gets a point, but if two or more people find him at once – or NOBODY does – you still get a point, which feels a bit odd, but makes the overall game easier. Also, as you go around the house, try to also find the stickers, which helps unlock more mini-games, I played this with Normal difficulty settings, for the record.

All that said, with lots of different items to check over, when hunting the Cat, he’s only in one of 4 or 5 places, and it’s the same with the stickers, so once I’d figured that out, I just went straight to those places.

Overall, The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem is moderately entertaining enough, but while I expected this to be about £15-£20, it’s actually £35!

So, check out the gameplay, but unless your family is going to be playing this over and over – to get your money’s worth, I’d wait for a sale.

The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem is out now on PC/Steam, plus the respective online stores for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox.
