The official online store of Brazilian telecommunications operator Vivo has announced a major price reduction on the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition desktop gaming console. As part of the special offer, the price of the white digital version of the console without a built-in optical drive has been reduced from the standard $701 to $505 with a one-time cashless payment via the PIX payment system. This price reduction represents a savings of over 28%, saving customers over $196 off the retailer’s original suggested retail price. Customers can also sign up for an interest-free installment plan over 15 regular payments of approximately $47 each, with free delivery available depending on their region of residence.
The discounted factory kit includes the PlayStation 5 console itself in a compact, slim Slim case, one original white DualSense wireless controller, a built-in high-speed solid-state drive with a usable capacity of 825 GB, a power cable, and a proprietary HDMI connection cable for direct connection to TVs or modern gaming monitors. The device’s hardware is capable of providing stable video output in resolutions up to 4K at frame rates up to 120 FPS in compatible video games with HDR support. This modification is initially designed exclusively for downloading digital copies of interactive entertainment from the PlayStation Store online service, while maintaining the technical capability for subsequent separate installation of an external removable drive. Ultra HD Blu-ray.
The retailer’s current discount campaign is timed to coincide with the start of the major holiday sales season and is aimed at actively expanding the user base of current-generation home consoles in the South American region. Such pricing initiatives allow retailers to quickly clear out inventory of base-model hardware amid the recent international launch of the more powerful and expensive PlayStation 5 Pro. Market experts note that maintaining an affordable price range for the Slim series digital system helps steadily attract a wider audience of players to the overall PlayStation digital ecosystem ahead of the upcoming major, high-budget game releases of the fall and winter season.
